Gaming Gaming Gaming
Video games have positive effects; playing video games excessively effectively obliterate these effects. Problem-solving skills, hand-eye coordination, quick thinking, strategy, situation awareness, memory, concentration, pattern recognition, and teamwork are outcomes of playing video games. Gamers are also considered to be great at multitasking and focusing for extended periods of time. However, just like any other hobby, immoderate amounts of time spent playing video games will destroy all positive effects. As a temperate gamer, I find it hard to see video games take so much heat for addiction when there are so many other hobbies that I see people addicted to. Fishing, shopping, and eating are examples. Balance must be maintained in any hobby. This is the principle that we should be teaching and focusing on.

Gaming addiction doesn't only destroy the positive effects but introduces negative effects too. It is important to recognize the consequences and take effective measures against such addiction.
ReplyDeleteVideo games mimic real activities. One positively benefits in those areas even more from doing the real activities with his body instead of just his fingers. A key purpose of life is learning how to use our bodies, and video games don't help with that.

ReplyDeleteVideo games are not bad or evil things depending on genre for me. I sometimes play epic mickey game for 2 hours every weekend, and I don't think it is giving negative effects on me. It's just for entertaining. As your saying, it's important to control our mind, limit time for playing video game, and keep balancing with other all hobbies.
